The International
Women's Brass Conference exists to provide opportunities
that will educate, develop, support and inspire all women
brass musicians who desire to pursue professional careers
in music.
The IWBC was founded by Susan Slaughter in 1990 in response
to results from a survey issued to over fourteen hundred women
brass players. The IWBC exists to provide opportunities that
will educate, support, develop, and inspire all women brass
players who wish to pursue professional careers in music.
Membership is open to all women and men who would like to
support this effort.
Publications
Publications available through the IWBC include Women Brass
Musicians, Past and Present compiled by the Pioneers Committee
and the IWBC Directory of Women Brass Perfomers and Teachers.
